Clapping

Concept:

Within a given beat the children count each beat (one to four). On count one and two they clap their hands. On count three they tap their left shoulder with their right hand and on count four they tap their right shoulder with their left hand

Variations:

In movement pattern (e.g. clap on knees, thigh)

 

 

 

 

 

Move rhythmically

Materials:

rhythmic instrument

Concept:

A beat and a movement pattern is given, to whom children have to move rhythmically (e.g. jumping on the spot, swing or rotate arms.)

Variations:

Different movement patterns while moving forward

Different acoustic sounds (instruments, voice, clapping, tap on materials from everyday life e.g. on a lunch box)

Movement activities with low and high intensity

Dance with the Chair

Materials:

CD (Children’s choice)

Concept:

The children move to the music with/around/over or on their chairs. A person (could be anybody) shows one type of movement involving the chair. The other children follow the example. E.g. wiggle ones feet, rotate around the chair, hold on to the back of the chair and swing ones leg.

Materials:

CD (Children’s choice)

Concept:

Voluntarily the children play their favorite song. Everybody listens ones. Within the course of the song, everybody moves individually to the music without any guidelines

Dance of the Ribbon

Materials:

Ribbon

Concept:

Children move freely to music with ribbons in their hand, swinging them in the room
